Iraq

The U.S. needs to pull troops out of Iraq; they currently serve no purpose. Their original intention was to locate weapons of mass destruction, which proved to be non-existent. After the hype of the WMDs died down, the “new” goal was to setup a solid democracy in Iraq, which we have also done. Iraq has even held legislative elections; proving they are off to a good start. We need to get rid of the imperialist behavior we are showing towards Iraq. It is time we “set them free.” All the troops have been doing is causing conflict, killing, and dying. Their presence brings about unnecessary tention throughout Iraq, which makes it hard for civilians to get on with their lives. The U.S. should be investing its time elsewhere, as it is certainly needed more across the world.

The military has also announced that three other soldiers were killed in fighting over the weekend in Anbar province.

Eighteen US soldiers have been killed in Iraq in November, the Associated Press news agency said.

More than 100 American troops were killed in October, making it one of the bloodiest months for the US in Iraq.

I agree with your ideas. What you’re saying makes sense. The soldiers in Iraq really aren’t doing anything worthwhile. They are being killed while patrolling Iraq, which really is an unnecessary job. The situation in Iraq really has no good ending possible. Pulling out the soldiers now will save that many more lives, and is the best solution.
